There are three different types of events. 'National' dinners, 'Select' dinner and 'Lunch' events
How often: Once or twice in every main city in a region/country a year.
How many people: 50-100 depending on how established a network is.
Format of dinner: They feature a guest speaker, who is a successful entrepreneur or an inspirational speaker. These talks are focused on the speaker's experiences in setting up businesses or in achieving success and on some of the key lessons learnt along the way. Previous speakers have included Jim Spowart (founder of Intelligent Finance IF.com), Jason Porter (co founder of Friends Re-united), Matthew Pinsent CBE (4 times Olympic rowing gold medal winner) and Sir Ian Wood CBE (CEO of The Wood group, annual turnover of $2.2 billion).
How often: Every 2 -3 months depending on demand and holiday period
How many people & who: 12-25 depending on how established a city is, how popular a topic is and how many people fit a venue. Not more than 25 as does not become interactive enough. Some for silver members only, some for only gold members and some mixed.
Format of dinner: The events are either round table discussion groups on a specific topic or there are one of two 5 minutes speech from entrepreneurial members who have experience in the topic. After the speakers talk there is an open forum discussion from all attendees.
How often: Every 6-8 weeks
How many people & who: 8-10 people. Lunch groups are split into Gold and Silver members, this allows a more focused and exclusive forum for discussing issues specifically relevant to those members and their businesses.
Where: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, London (dinner format) & opening in new cities.
Format of Lunch: At these events each attendees describes a current business challenge, the lunch chairperson then elects to take two business challenges that were raised and the table discusses each challenge in more depth. The feedback is this that this in an invaluable forum for solving business issues.
